What is the difference between original TrollFoil and TrollFoil 4.5?

TrollFoil 4.5 is thinner at 4.5 microns thin, original TrollFoil is 8 microns thin.

Is thinner better?

Thinner is better, especially when you are trying to dial in that hard-to-get spot. Thick articulating products give less accurate markings.

What is TrollFoil and TrollFoil 4.5 made of?

Both are a foil not a paper, the foil holds the color which is released when the patients tap their teeth together, no need to grind and recheck, just tap, tap, tap. Foil is a stronger material then paper and releases the color accurately.

What about the color?

The color is a carbon-based color not a wax-based color which is precisely released when the patient taps their teeth together. Unlike a wax-based color TrollFoil and TrollFoil 4.5 will not smear which takes the guessing away. You know exactly where to go.

What surfaces does TrollFoil 4.5 mark on?

It marks on wet, dry, and highly polished fields. It is the only articulating product you will need to mark on all surfaces.

Do I need to use forceps?

No, TrollFoil 4.5 comes on its own frame, you simply tear off the cover and go straight to the mouth without using a forcep, one less thing to have to autoclave. You can use a forcep if you choose but it is not necessary.

Why should I buy TrollFoil 4.5?

TrollFoil 4.5 will mark all areas and surfaces, wet, dry and highly polished, even those hard to dial in spots. TrollFoil 4.5 marks so accurately it takes the guessing away saving time and money. You don’t need a forcep because it has a built-in frame and comes individually stacked in a box so you can just take out one strip at a time, no cutting.  It will make you an even better dentist!

• It can save time if you need to fine tune that one "little spot" that the patient feels but you can't get with your normal, bulk articulating paper.  Your adjustments are precise instead of grinding all over the place.
• If I can dial in a bite, then there is no need for the patient to return.  They love that and I love that

• If the markings are accurate, do you feel more confident that you won’t have a returning patient with a bite that is off? Bite has not been a problem for me because I have used the 8-micron troll foil for a long time so the 4.5 just creates even more accuracy.
• If you find that 4.5 saves time, do you feel it is worth the cost?  Of course. You pay for quality!
• Would you only use 4.5 for tricky occlusions?  NO, I would use it for all of my cases as I want a high degree of accuracy all the time.
• Would you consider 4.5 a specialty product? No, it is an every case every day type of product.
